Explaining the Do'

When people comment on my natural hair sometimes it’s hard to think up a response.  “Oh I see you’ve gone natural” from one of the parents at my job shouldn’t solicit a tangle of emotions or a long drawn out speech about my hair choice but it does and the proper course of action alludes me especially when the observation comes with a twinge of accusation and little compliment.  This allusion has lead to much awkwardness by way of me blurting out that I’ve started a blog on my hair journey rather than informing about the intent of this blog or more likely, giving a sheepish comment on the stress of upholding public worthy do’s, either way I just don’t know what to say!  Ideally these encounters would be engaging rather than composed of nervous babbling, inviting the observant commenter to join me on our own journey about the elephant in the room (why my hair's no longer straight) rather than a halfhearted polite chat on my curlicious new do'.

Any thoughts on how to reconcile this issue and prepare for the next?  I’m all ears :)
